First impression: it’s such a pretty, pretty book. Not just the dreamy illustration, but the text also flows beautifully in rhymes. But, it goes deeper than that – it teaches the readers a lot about trees, and their importance for our future. Nina is completely captivated, she keeps asking to read it and keeps asking questions with every page we turn. We learned so much from the beautiful illustrations – a notable page is the one showcasing tree roots. The illustration is just so magically beautiful and it opened up a lengthy discussion about what roots do. Author @theannasmithers is definitely passionate about nature and it shows on every page.

A sign of a great book for me is when it inspires readers after reading it. This book has done just that – it inspired me to learn more about different trees since I’m horribly botanically challenged. However, the biggest marvel is to see Nina actually told me that she wanted to plant ‘baby trees’ as we saw in the book. If you’re like me and don’t know much about trees, this book is a great way to start! You can learn so much from it along with your kids.
